    Well, there are several human prion diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. That some researchers have suggested a link to BSE seems troubling. These are relatively slow-progressing diseases that occur later in life, whereas other Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies such as Kuru, sporadic, iatrogenic, or familial CJD, new variant CJD (from eating/being exposed to BSE), have a terrifyingly fast progressing disease where you’re generally dead inside 2 years.
