Lonewolf, I bite my tongue when it comes to complaining about summer heat. I think about how much I loathe winter. The cold bothers me a lot more than the heat. Also, with summer comes the longer daylight hours that I like, too.

You’ve got me stumped on that one, Grog. Maybe running late in the morning, but I can’t explain after work. I was always in a hurry to get home after work!
I think it’s because there a bunch of people driving slowly, yapping on their cell phones on the way home. I don’t know why they can’t make these calls from their office.
Grog, yes the weekend. It is now starting to mean something to me. Ever since my wife decided to go to work, it is the two days where I know she will not have to leave, but… that also means that she is home to think up projects.

JFri That’s not going to change anytime soon. Busy is what my life is at the moment. I miss hanging out with the Tribe, but I do my best to keep in touch.
Grog, do they let you all go home then?
They let us leave the building I worked in when I was in Chicago because the Chicago River was leaking into the lower level of the street.
No, we’re still here, Carmy. But they let us go a few weeks ago when there was a chemical leek here. The wind was blowing the right direction and they let us go right about my normmal quitting time. If I hadn’t taken that opportunity, my next chance to leave would have been when they signaled the “All Clear”, which was somewhere between 2 and 4 AM from what I was told.
It was the 3rd greeting today, Carmy. You sort of have to follow the post pattern since the first time around the 7AM hour, I think - perhaps a little later. Sort of amusing, really.
Hah! I saw the dead bunny story. It was funny when they did it on Dickie Roberts. Remember, “demon rabbitt.” That was hilarious. That was the same lady from Planes, Trains and Automobiles. She’s nutty.
Okay, now I have to say it, “those aren’t pillows!”
Grog ROFLMAO! And of course, Herb failed a few times too, trying to get Jennifer to go out with him! And she went out with Les to the Silver Sow awards! Poor Herb!
*Carmy, I believe you are talking about Edie McGlurg, Lucille on WKRP and the reservations clerk in P, T, and A. What a laugh riot, still is. And I’ve seen it multiple times. Finally own it!
Dry, do you remember when Herb was giving Les pointers and was trying his moves on Jennifer for Les’ bennefit? “Why not go for a little gusto?” She responded “I don’t go with ‘little gustos’, Herb”
Shoot, it has been such a beautiful day, I have spent it outdoors. I am now halfway through draining and cleaning my hot tub. Thanks for the Booker’s JFri. It makes cleaning the hot tub a little less precise, but who needs precise when you are retired.
TABBY IS TOTALY COMPLETELY AMAZINGLY CRAZY HAPPY RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER HAVE I BEEN THIS CRAZY HAPPY EVER!!!! AHAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HAPPPPPPPPPPPPPYYYYYYYYYYYYNEESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello Carmy and the troublemaker Dry. I actually have a hot tub story. When we first had the tub put in we were also rebuilding and enlarging our deck. The very first time we used it LilG’s son got in with a White Russian he had made. LilG wanted a photo of the two of them in the tub. I went to get the camera, he put his drink down on a little ledge meant for glasses. I began to focus, he went to put his arm around his mom and knocked the mixture into the tub just as I tripped the shutter. They both were laughing in the image. There should have been a camera on me. I had been the one to fill the tub and add the chemistry. LOL
OH YES IT IS SO CONTAGAIOUS MAINLY IF YOU KNOW THE STORY! AHHHHHHHHH HAPPY AND these crazy people here are trying to get me down and its not gonna happen bc i am way to INSAINLY CRAZY EXCOTICALY HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Shika, about NFs being inscrutable: it’s because the SPs are all into action and impulse, SJs into rules and getting things done, and NTs are into knowing things and being skillful. They can all understand the others, even if they have different goals themselves.
But NFs are into being meaningful and having a meaning in life. Which strikes the others as being pretty nebulous.
JFri maybe it’s an Orange Crush, but I doubt it, no other pop would dare move in on Dr. Pepper. Yes JFri we can be his official greeting committee. If he can stand up to John Wayne and The Incredible Naked Man, he does indeed have honorable intentions.
Good story Cleo! I’ve never had a White Russian, but I do like Black Russians! Hven’t had one for awhile.Sorry I disappeared. My ham hocks were done in the slow cooker so I took them out, took off the fat, and shreded the ham. Put it in the fridge for overnight so all the fat and grease turns solid. I’ll make that (ham pot pie) and also stuffed shells for Sunday and have leftovers all week then.! Go me!
bunny yea I know, but that Catholic School training stays with you you know! The purpose is to give up something you really like as a sacrifice during Lent, or to go the extra mile so to speak, during Lent.
I have a friend who has given up ice cream! Good thing Carmy isn’t Catholic! LOL!
”bunny yea I know, but that Catholic School training stays with you you know! The purpose is to give up something you really like as a sacrifice during Lent, or to go the extra mile so to speak, during Lent.”
[sigh]
[heavy sigh]
[really heavy sigh]
I prefer not to start with something “to give up” but to go more with the sequence of Matthew 6: 1-18. We begin with giving alms: what can I offer from my gifts, especially giving myself, my personal gifts, to others with a claim on them? Next comes prayer: what do I want to offer God by way of attention and time so I may hear his call?
Only then comes fasting: what needs to be let go so I have room for these positive things? I find this is a much healthier way to go about it, and encourages us to continue after Easter comes. After all, why spend 6 weeks building up new habits and (we hope) improving our life, only to quit cold when the time we celebrate our new life with God comes along?
Sorry for the sermon–[sigh again]–and we wonder why there is so little effect in our lives.
Dear Dry If you ate socks, I’m sure that God understands. He may be shaking his head though. If you ate ham, on the other hand- there’s no hope for you!
JFri if I remember I believe that kid was actually from the Appalachians. Haven’t seen the movie in a LONG time, but I think I remember reading that somewhere.
Did you ever see “Southern Comfort” with Powers Booth?
Cleo we are glad to do this for you, since you are serving us dinner and Bookers! What are friends for, if not to help each other? No worry, friend, we have had a class in drywall!
JFri how’s your Bookers? Mine is delicious, served by the perfect host, even though he doesn’t trust our drywall work! We had a class in it Cleo. We do know something about it, something! ROFLMAO!
Pretty good Lonewolf. I thought I might check in before turning in. It’s been a pretty busy week and I’d like to get an early start to the day tomorrow.
Grog, I have a pool league tomorrow. But do to my present sleeping habits, it’s up in the air whether or not I make the turnover. I’d prefer to be asleep by then, but unfortunately it doesn’t always happen that way for me.
I know what you mean. Usually, I have difficulty sleeping, during the work week. Unfortunately I tend to more than make up for it on the week-end. I really don’t want to do that this week-end as I’ll be in Dallas for a few days on business next week and there are a ton of things I’d like to do before I leave.
Not really, since they were doing a rain dance… but perhaps a good counter would also have been “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” OR “Gimme Shelter”
Dry, I saw your comment over at Winnie the Pooh. Yes it is great to see all the old ones again, but Hedgehog2 makes similar comments on almost a daily basis and it’s just not sinking in.
Grog I don’t see him much, but he has been around a while. I’m just glad to see the old strips again. Our local paper used to carry WTP and I always read it. Was so happy to see it here. I loved Eeyore and my kids had the 100 Acre Woods toy when they were little. I gave it to a friend when they had outgrown it but I kept the little Eeyore figurine! I still have him! Yea, I guess that’s good, I still have the kid in me! LOL!
Cleo, it’s a “Paranormal” type program. I don’t fancy the people on this particular show, but the places they “check out” are very interesting. It’s on the Travel Channel.
@CARMY, have your girls ever watched “Little Bear” or “Franklin the Turtle”? Those were great kids cartoons! And my one son has most of Franklin’s books, which I have kept for him for his own kids someday, if he wants them, and Franklin and Snail are tucked safely away for future use.
Hi Cleo! I never really read WTP in my comics either, but my girls do like to watch the DVDs with WTP. I really dig Kipper, that would be Kipper the Dog.
I guess not having kids has hindered my comic development. I seem to know way less about the different comics than most of the rest of you. Or maybe I am just stifled in my comic development, or maybe more oriented to a certain element of comic.
My older sisters joined childrens’ book club right after I had my first daughter. They have sent us so many books, we’ve had to give some away. Some of them got too old and started loosing pages. We did keep some favorites, I put them away for safe keeping.
Grog, I guess those girls do need somewhere to relax. I mean all they do is lounge around Hef’s mansion all day.
Hey, did you see The House Bunny with Anna Faris?
I didn’t even know that there were Star Trek novels. Did you see the recent Star Trek movie?
I have some Bible Collection tapes and DVDs. In “David” Leonard Nimoy was Samuel. He did a great job, IMHO.
Carmy, this make come as a shock to you, but there are well over 80 novels based on the characters on the original series. There are also novels based on the characters in succeeding series, which I have not collected.
Movie break while my wife brushes her teeth. I had a subscription to Playboy for decades and let it lapse just over a year ago. One of the things that made my wife decide I was the one for her was when she asked me why I had a subscription to Playboy. My answer… the pictures.
In the movie they were very young. It is interesting on how they all met and joined up together. I thought I wouldn’t like it, but I really did enjoy it.
Carmy, there was a time when the science fiction isle at the book store used to be fully stocked with them, with their own fully stocked shelf. But if you go to a Barnes & Noble now, you’ll be lucky to see the latest releases, which no longer include anything from the original series unles Shatner has written it.
Carmy, I dropped Playboy a few years into our relationship, when I determined it was no longer necessary for any reason at all. I married the love of my life. :-)
Carmy, no need to go to a used book store if I already own all there is to own in that particular area.
cleo, I don’t think you’re missing much. They’re starting to get rather skimpy on the playmate photos. I’m going to be thinking it over before I renew my subscription.
Carmy, perhaps I should also rephrase what I initially said: I own all that I want to own from what has already been published. There are really no new releases to collect.
Cleo, if your wife is like me, she’ll be falling asleep before the movie is over. Although sometimes I see the beginning and the end, I just snooze through the middle.
The new comics are up. I’m going on a quick toon tour. I already have the breakfast covered.
In case I don’t run into you again tonight, have a good night and sleep wellhymenoxis!

When did BT become a lecture class?
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Hello Lonewolf. I figured you were lurching around here somewhere. I just saw a recent post elsewhere.
carmy over 14 years ago
Grog, do they let you all go home then? They let us leave the building I worked in when I was in Chicago because the Chicago River was leaking into the lower level of the street.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
So you regret stopping by the “Dinette Set” today, Lonewolf? Heheh!
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
I see you caught that, Grog. LOL
I’ve been working on the computer since I got done with that auto appt this AM.
carmy over 14 years ago
Grog, you’re making me think that when you say “Hi” to me it’s like “Hello Newman!” Say it isn’t so!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
No, we’re still here, Carmy. But they let us go a few weeks ago when there was a chemical leek here. The wind was blowing the right direction and they let us go right about my normmal quitting time. If I hadn’t taken that opportunity, my next chance to leave would have been when they signaled the “All Clear”, which was somewhere between 2 and 4 AM from what I was told.
Shikamoo Premium Member over 14 years ago
Hi Carmy. When I reappear, I’m just being Shika. With you, it is magic! lol
Hi Dry! I am just about to run out to run some errands and then run back and do some homework.Who says TGIF? LOL

It was the 3rd greeting today, Carmy. You sort of have to follow the post pattern since the first time around the 7AM hour, I think - perhaps a little later. Sort of amusing, really.

carmy over 14 years ago

cleokaya over 14 years ago
Tabby are you happy?
LOL
cleokaya over 14 years ago
Just in case someone is reading this and doesn’t know what a White Russian is…it’s not a person.
bmonk over 14 years ago

@Shika, about NFs being inscrutable: it’s because the SPs are all into action and impulse, SJs into rules and getting things done, and NTs are into knowing things and being skillful. They can all understand the others, even if they have different goals themselves.
But NFs are into being meaningful and having a meaning in life. Which strikes the others as being pretty nebulous.
The Duke 1 over 14 years ago
cleo, looks like we need to get out our shotguns and start cleaning them…..just to keep *”the crush” in line!
cleokaya over 14 years ago
JFri maybe it’s an Orange Crush, but I doubt it, no other pop would dare move in on Dr. Pepper. Yes JFri we can be his official greeting committee. If he can stand up to John Wayne and The Incredible Naked Man, he does indeed have honorable intentions.

Good story Cleo! I’ve never had a White Russian, but I do like Black Russians! Hven’t had one for awhile.Sorry I disappeared. My ham hocks were done in the slow cooker so I took them out, took off the fat, and shreded the ham. Put it in the fridge for overnight so all the fat and grease turns solid. bunny yea I know, but that Catholic School training stays with you you know! The purpose is to give up something you really like as a sacrifice during Lent, or to go the extra mile so to speak, during Lent.

Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
bmonk, not bunny, now. I call you that now out of respect! Thank you! Of course, you are correct!

COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Grog, I have a pool league tomorrow. But do to my present sleeping habits, it’s up in the air whether or not I make the turnover. I’d prefer to be asleep by then, but unfortunately it doesn’t always happen that way for me.

LOL!

Hello Carmy. I have never had much to do with WTP and I don’t know why. I guess because it has never been featured in any of the comics that I read.

While it crosses my feeble mind,
@CARMY, have your girls ever watched “Little Bear” or “Franklin the Turtle”? Those were great kids cartoons! And my one son has most of Franklin’s books, which I have kept for him for his own kids someday, if he wants them, and Franklin and Snail are tucked safely away for future use.

Hi Carmy (x 4 or is it 5) Maybe that’s why Eeyore had such as sunny disposition on life.

Dry, my girls love Little Bear! We have some Franklin books. I really like the Dumb Bunnies books. Grog, I’ve lost count. ha ha! Poor Eeyore!
cleokaya over 14 years ago
I guess not having kids has hindered my comic development. I seem to know way less about the different comics than most of the rest of you. Or maybe I am just stifled in my comic development, or maybe more oriented to a certain element of comic.
cleokaya over 14 years ago
Carmy would those be the dumb playboy bunny books? I am hip to them.
carmy over 14 years ago
My older sisters joined childrens’ book club right after I had my first daughter. They have sent us so many books, we’ve had to give some away. Some of them got too old and started loosing pages. We did keep some favorites, I put them away for safe keeping.

cleo, I may have one or two of those hangin around here, too

Movie time.
carmy over 14 years ago
Cleo, it’s probably the certain element and no, the Dumb Bunnies are not from Playboy. LOL
carmy over 14 years ago
Oh Grog! You too?
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
(blush) Yeah, me too. But I’m sure that cleo and I aren’t the only ones keeping Hef in the Playboy mansion.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Grog What do you have hangin’ around? Hmmm?
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Cleo was saved by the bell!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
It’s a big house, Dry. I’ve got a lot of stuff “hangin ‘round”
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Among my various art and movie and TV show and record collections, I have a weakness for certain Playboy issues.
carmy over 14 years ago
Grog, I guess those girls do need somewhere to relax. I mean all they do is lounge around Hef’s mansion all day. Hey, did you see The House Bunny with Anna Faris?
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
I also have almost every original Star Trek Novel published, a few of the earlier B.C. and Peanuts paperback publsihed.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
No, Carmy, I didn’t see “The House Bunny”. Googling it now.
carmy over 14 years ago
I didn’t even know that there were Star Trek novels. Did you see the recent Star Trek movie? I have some Bible Collection tapes and DVDs. In “David” Leonard Nimoy was Samuel. He did a great job, IMHO.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Carmy, I’m not THAT up on Playboy.
carmy over 14 years ago
Grog, my older girls wanted to watch that silly movie. They think Anna Faris is very funny.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Carmy, this make come as a shock to you, but there are well over 80 novels based on the characters on the original series. There are also novels based on the characters in succeeding series, which I have not collected.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Oh, and I have not yet seen the latest movie, but based on the trailers I’ve seen on TV, they looked sooooo young.
carmy over 14 years ago
Really? Wow! i can’t believe I’ve never come across at least one of them.
cleokaya over 14 years ago
Movie break while my wife brushes her teeth. I had a subscription to Playboy for decades and let it lapse just over a year ago. One of the things that made my wife decide I was the one for her was when she asked me why I had a subscription to Playboy. My answer… the pictures.
carmy over 14 years ago
In the movie they were very young. It is interesting on how they all met and joined up together. I thought I wouldn’t like it, but I really did enjoy it.
carmy over 14 years ago
Cleo, honesty is the best policy!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Carmy, there was a time when the science fiction isle at the book store used to be fully stocked with them, with their own fully stocked shelf. But if you go to a Barnes & Noble now, you’ll be lucky to see the latest releases, which no longer include anything from the original series unles Shatner has written it.
cleokaya over 14 years ago
Carmy, I dropped Playboy a few years into our relationship, when I determined it was no longer necessary for any reason at all. I married the love of my life. :-)
carmy over 14 years ago
Grog, maybe you would have better luck at a used bookstore.
cleokaya over 14 years ago
Carmy, having said that, there is still room to bitch. LOL
carmy over 14 years ago
Cleo, you are so sweet! LiLG hit the jackpot with you.
cleokaya over 14 years ago
Carmy, I hit the jackpot with her as well.
carmy over 14 years ago
Oops! My last comment should have been before your last comment, Cleo.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Carmy, no need to go to a used book store if I already own all there is to own in that particular area.
cleo, I don’t think you’re missing much. They’re starting to get rather skimpy on the playmate photos. I’m going to be thinking it over before I renew my subscription.
carmy over 14 years ago
Well, see there? You are both winners!
cleokaya over 14 years ago
Carmy your last comment is fine. I just point out that life always has its little moments. LOL
Movie time.
carmy over 14 years ago
Grog, I misunderstood. I thought you were still looking for some of the novels.
carmy over 14 years ago
Yes, I hear you, Cleo. Enjoy the movie.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Carmy, perhaps I should also rephrase what I initially said: I own all that I want to own from what has already been published. There are really no new releases to collect.

Hardly. Sometimes the mind is a hard thing to turn off, like a light bulb. I need something to distract me from what’s on my mind.
carmy over 14 years ago
Hi Tabby! No, you’re not crazy. Try reading a book, maybe that will make you sleepy. Grog, I hear you. Goodnight Dry!
carmy over 14 years ago
I’m trying to make it to the turnover, but I’m getting pretty tired. Maybe I can manage a really quick toon run.
tabbylynn over 14 years ago
im tired now. lol night all
cleokaya over 14 years ago
Tabby, I am glad that you are excited. Just be careful sweetie. And this is advice from the number 1 letch of the 60s, 70s and 80s.

Goodnight Tabby! Sleep well, Sweetie Cleo, LOL, very good advice!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Did I have a hand in putting you to sleep, Tabby? Works all the time without even trying.
cleokaya over 14 years ago
Goodnight Carmy.
carmy over 14 years ago
Grog, I think she just have may needed a distraction. Goodnight Cleo! Hope you enjoyed the movie.

Carmy, I tell you, if I don’t fall asleep my wife does.
cleokaya over 14 years ago
Goodnight all.

Nite ALL
carmy over 14 years ago
Cleo, if your wife is like me, she’ll be falling asleep before the movie is over. Although sometimes I see the beginning and the end, I just snooze through the middle.
carmy over 14 years ago
Goodnight Cleo and Grog! I’ll see if I can hold out for another 20 minutes or so.

How’s Texas? Did you celebrate Texas Independence Day?
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Yes I did. I had a marguirita.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Texas seems to be fine, so far as I can tell. Governor Haircut was re-elected, so I can sleep safely tonight.
carmy over 14 years ago
Excellent! Has it started warming up yet? My Mom said that it’s been colder than usual down in the Valley.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Up in the sixties today, south of Ft. Worth, and I’m expecting to see canna sprouts soon.
carmy over 14 years ago
Governor Haircut? I haven’t heard him being called that before. It does suit him though. I hope he doesn’t try to burn down the mansion again.
carmy over 14 years ago
That’s warmer than it’s been here in FL!
carmy over 14 years ago
The new comics are up. I’m going on a quick toon tour. I already have the breakfast covered. In case I don’t run into you again tonight, have a good night and sleep wellhymenoxis!
