DOC TOON I vacuum twice a week and I only have two feline invaders. I have to empty the vacuum cup about three times. SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED bought a fancy-smancy machine off 3 AM TV. I would have to buy bags for it if she ever used it. Woe the day a Kirby salesman ever offers to clean her rug.

If I ever could pry my head off my pillow at the hours some of you insomniacs keep, I’d create a menu. “Freezer to Micro, take your pick, Condiments on fridge door.” As you can see, my AM fodder says, “Part of a balanced nutritional breakfast”.

LuvH8 - I read BB but don’t always see the comments (I should probably comment more but 1 - I can’t always thing of something good that hasn’t already been said, 2 - most of the tribe has come and gone before I get there) as it takes too much time to see all of them. I do look at some that look like they will be interesting. I did see Grogs day at BB and will certainly check out yours!

Let me know about Gimp on your system. (I will upgrade to Windows 7 as soon as I can get a better computer, hopefully buy years end.) Will try to answer any questions you have. I am having fun with it. Have 24 0f 36 African fixed, will re-upload in a day or two. (You can download current photos to see changes I made if you want.) I’m doing different things to get where I want as I learn about the program. It isn’t really different from programs I have used, just learning about how to do things in it. It is fun to work with photos again!

I found the fireworks!!!!

Hi, tribe! I’m only here for a few minutes. Busy day today - and the actual temperature got up to 109F, but only for one minute. Has to stay at a temp for 3 minutes or more to count, so we set a new record for August 2 of 108F. Those types of record-setting, I can do without. Kab - If you go to channel 3’s website and look at the video, you can just see the right half of my back. I was trying to take video, but I only ended up with stills. (Not enough practice taking videos with my digital camera, as it isn’t primarily a camcorder.)

Off to take my test, if you want to wish me well. Wish for accurate results, and that I don’t have to do this again.

I got distracted by the discussion on xkcd. It’s not totally respectful, but it’s been pretty good.

bmonk - Well, my filter wouldn’t let me go there, so I don’t have a clue about it.

It’s quite extensive, over 300 posts today, some quite long. But, as I said, not bad. Certainly not a flame war, although some do get close at times.

RMOM if you see this, are you under an excessive heat warning? Sounds like you should be. We are a little southeast of Kansas City–50-60 miles and we are until sometime Wednesday…our temp is 100 and a bad dew point/humidity. So glad for a/c. We were told Salina and Wichita had record temps.

Just got in from our couples Bridge. My partner and I finished pretty well…would have been better if I had bid a slam when I could have.

hopeandjoy2 - I’m sure we are, but I haven’t looked today. I was in Wichita most of the day - I live 30-40 miles (I think) from there. Of course, if I complain about the heat, someone always has it worse - like the people working outside in it, or like in the shop area where my hubby works. Can you imagine this type of heat, and then welders, lasers, etc. adding to the heat? Yuk! Thankfully my husband’s office is in the a/c part, but he does have to go out in the shop area frequently. I normally get to stay inside, but had appointments & errands today, so I had to climb in a hot car several times.

Well, I really need to get to bed, but I just had to get in my comics “fix”. Good night!
