The problem with the photo “album” was someone actually had to put the photo in one. My recently deceased wife and I were married for 34 years and after she died I received an album with some of “our” photo’s in it. We have thousands of pictures and not really any albums, just a big pile mostly of “unknown” people. Nobody ever made notes on them so in the future they won’t mean anything to anyone unless they are the person in the picture. :(
At least with albums, there’s some physical evidence that you or someone was there to take the picture. I can’t imagine people sitting around 40 years from now and still having the pictures on their phones they took at their kids first birthday party.

If they can still view them in 1,000 years, they will wonder at the big noses, (selfies).
