We have a cat that will play ‘fetch’ with a spring toy.
We had one that would bring laundry up from the basement (and even fish it out through the side of a laundry hamper) and ‘serenade’ us while he did it. You’d hear this muffled but very insistent meowing and after a few minutes he’d come up with a sock or a t-shirt or a rag. Once he even brought a cardigan up.
cats love batting things around on the floor, would really be comical if they found a way to put something on the button to make the pen light up so the dot would be visible to make the cat more crazy.

His look says, “Oh, if I only had hands instead of paws, I would totally own this @##$%#!”

My son’s cat will start after the red dot and then stop and stare up at whoever has the laser pointer as if to say “Ha! Can’t fool me again!”

“ Oogie” sounds like something that came out of your nose.
