Garfield by Jim Davis for October 14, 1979
Transcript:
Jon: Wake up, sleepyhead! We're having breakfast on the patio this morning. Because I want to share this beautiful sunrise with you. Where else can you find a living, breathing work of art created just for you? Fresh with the promise of a bright new day. Have you ever seen a more glorious sight, Garfield?..uh, Garfield? Get your face out of the scrambled eggs, Garfield.

Come on Jon, Garfield was just so overwhelmed by the glorious sunrise that he fainted. The snoring?…….it’s hard to breathe through the eggs.

I feel like that would have been the perfect moment for Jon to get serious with Liz (if she was there) That romantic sunrise, along with the breakfast he would have made just for her.

It amazes me how I embrace both Jon’s and Garfield’s viewpoints on this.

Such a rare and beautiful Garfield strip, ruined by Garfield himself…
