When I was a kid, I loved the newspaper comics, and read them all… except Pogo. The lettering was too weird. Then one day I thought, “let me try to get through it” and I was hooked. I now haunt used book stores looking for Pogo books I don’t have (as well as “Addams Family” books).

Churchy LaFemme, and ‘Friday the 13th comes on ___day this month!’ So many clever aspects and running gags and commentary. He is missed.

Walt Kelly could do more with a few characters and a selection of fonts than a whole CGI studio. :)
