Call it percussive maintenance and it sounds like you know what you’re doing with the hammer.

Rarely when a repair goes wrong and you have to call the “professional repairman”. I hate it when they belittle you for trying to fix it yourself

I am a big fan of duck tape repair method. And the other advice you offer reminds me of the life saying: if all you have in your tool box is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

A “fixit” story: I had just purchased a socket set with a wide variety of screw-heads, standard and non-standard. Within two weeks of this purchase, I needed it twice. Once for a non-standard screw on my backup computer, and once for a license-plate screw on my car. Of course the car screw was a standard type, but it was rusted in pretty solid, and the new set only had screwdriver socket handles, so I got a hefty socket handle from another socket set, put an adapter from the new set on it, and horsed that baby off of there!

My wife is better with tools than I am and knows more about how to fix things

She keeps me around for the heavy lifting, and my good looks

My husband, who has a tool for everything neatly placed in a myriad of tool boxes would probably have a heart attack if I showed him this comic.

You play trombone and yet can’t handle a simple plumbing g job? Probably just an easy washer replacement.

Tools is tools. Some tend to drift to the bottom of the box/drawer for lack of use. But, ya know, some day. So best to just keep everything just in case. Buy once, cry once. I can’t imagine what other uses I might find for a thirty year old guitar capo. I should be interesting. Or desperate.

No WD40? Didn’t you get the “how to be a MAN” manual when you hit puberty? (I say manual, but its more of a pamphlet really). Here, I’ll give it to you now (do NOT show this to women)

Tools: duck tape and WD40. Yep.

Women: 1) the woman is always right; 2) if the woman is wrong, see rule 1

    Questions?
