We excluded any neighborhood with an HOA in our search.
Too many of them are power mad little tyrants. It’s one thing to keep cars off blocks and homes looking neat. It’s another when they start dictating the shade of a certain color, or demanding garage doors be closed after 10 minutes. Or (another real case) demanding the garage be kept OPEN during they day so they could be sure nobody lived in the garage.
