I think that Dill should start putting together a book listing all these brilliant DILLISMS (there’s your title) that he’s continually voicing.

Well, if he finished and turned in the unfinished homework, he wouldn’t be in this mess.

Now that’s an idea many kids would like. But, not good in the long run.

That’s why we had 3 month breaks!

Well it’s different from “The dog ate my homework”!

Dill has the right idea!

Better yet, repeat each grade. The second time’s much easier when you know what to expect.

Hence why Dill’s college-age brothers are just approaching middle school.

Remember the old adage when working on a computer: ‘remember to save.’ Hope he did that.

Or you could be like Nate and take 30 years to flunk 6th grade over and over.

Remember when 3th grade seemed like higher education? Ha

Talked to a woman who taught troublemakers who were kicked out of other high school classes. Most quit as soon as they turned 16. She gave each of them a card and asked them to call if they ever decided to get their GED. Said she got quite a few of those calls over the years.

Naw, he’s upset about being told he is imaginary. True, or, not, he’s in a major quandary.

Although Dill’s grammar could be better (“…between grades,” not “…between each grade,” which defies any logic), his idea has merit. It does prolong the mandated education, though….

And, BTW, Alice, if you think Petey’s third grade is “higher education,” I’m afraid Life has a very rude surprise in store for you….
