    The harvest festival was a time to desperately pile on fat to get one through the winter. Today, most of us eat whatever and whenever we want year round, so any “festival fat” gets added on permanently. Be thankful if you can do active things over the holidays and eat sensibly. :)

    The Native Americans helped them make it through the first TWO winters by giving them food and teaching them how to farm and hunt. Their generosity was returned with death and slaughter.
