Yeah, I never counted the slop method as art either. Needs no skill, any chimp or child can do it.
I’ve settled on the dribble method. Learned it well pouring wine, dripping gravy and ladling red sauces. Errant ice cream gets sucked out of the cloth before it dries (is wasted).
