    Of course not. Too busy giving raises and bonuses to the high up people that you have to lay off the lower people. Typical.

    I worked at a nuclear power plant that decided the number of workers should be determined by the plant’s power rating. And cut the staff from about 1100 to 497 overnight. They were warned by various experts, oversight agencies, and us workers that this wasn’t sustainable and necessary maintenance would suffer. It took about 15 years but we finally got to the point where a problem was overlooked for so long that we had a major electrical explosion. The incident cost much more than the money saved by laying off all those people.
