Mosaic Law is the foundation of the modern legal system. It turns out that people need reminding that selfish and/or violent actions have negative consequences for the community at large and must be discouraged.

Unfortunately, those who habitually tout “common sense” tend to live in a disinformation bubble in which the term actually means common nonsense.

Like, thou shalt not have slaves.

That is not how it works.

Kindness. Try Kindness. Works so much better than ‘common’ sense.

Carlin broke it down to two: Don’t steal and don’t lie about it. (That also included stealing the affections of the spouse of another or of an unmarried person). Going any deeper would probably violate TOS here.

Common sense and common knowledge are two of the most uncommon things on Earth.

This is back on you, common sense is what you should be giving out.

I hope some civil responsibility might creep in there as well. But then, he would probably need fewer rules.
