When I was growing up in the 70’s we were snowed in regularly with no power for 2 or 3 days at a time, maybe 3 or 4 times per winter. The only real disappointment i felt was having my birthday party cancelled every year, as we always had a blizzard hit the day before my birthday and were always snowed in on the actual day. I was 14 before I actually went to school on my birthday as that was the first blizzard free winter we had.
Back in ’76, a college friend who was from Buffalo said that the snow was up to the 2nd floor window of his parents home. That would be tunneling time.

As long as Dad doesn’t run out of coffee, you’ll all be fine.

It’s a pandemic lock down. Just exactly where is the civilization you expect to escape to?

You can dig a tunnel, but you won’t find civilization.
