Most of us, some of us, can put up a facade of normality long enough to make it through the workday, or out grocery shopping. Doesn’t mean we don’t feel our distress and pain, though.
They really don’t see what you see. I have learned that the way we see ourselves and the way others see us often have no relationship at all. Many’s the time I’ve wished I could see myself through my friends’ eyes.
So true. It seems absurd that they can’t see what I see. It’s a good lesson about life in general, really. It is really hard to put yourself in someone else’s shoes, hence our divided world.
