I’m glad Fred is trained to wait for the towel – Conan learned to do that early on; Bella has picked up on it too, as she really hates being wet. Even if she is only mildly damp, she will go and nose her towel so I will give her a rub-down.
Mr. Dear will have to wait his turn … and maybe shed his raincoat and wellies before he goes too much farther into the kitchen.
Nitpic time – 2nd panel: Closeup of Fred, but Mr. Dear is still standing behind him as indicated by the inker’s drawing of the shadows. The colorist forgot the blue of his pants and dark yellow of the raincoat, so we are left with an odd crucifix above Fred.
Now, Fred. Having been-there-done-that, I KNOW that it’s a matter of you being the greater threat to the clean floor. And walls. And cabinets. And clothing. And possibly the ceiling. sigh.

As well it should be. Our two Dackels get that treatment.

Perhaps Mrs Dear should not mop the floor on rainy days, when the boys are out. Maybe wait until after they come home
