So, my theory now….is that the “body snatching” they’re about to embark on IS for Wally. That’s not unique, folks have been saying it the last few days.
But what I think is happening, given the color in the sky behind, is that they’re heading into one of the realities Marx and Wally visited when Wally was dreaming: https://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2018/11/05?ct=v&cti=1621572 I don’t think they’re going to the gingerbread one, Wally was destroyed there. But maybe there was ONE where Wally has survived. The idea being that using the dreams, Marx seeded the multiverse with “spare” Wallys. Now they’re heading back to one to pick him up. I expect something suitably freaky-looking until it is re-naturalized as a Cardoodle.
I think the author has dropped a hint… we’re now in a time-loop, doomed to repeat the same activity for eternity. Or at least a few quadrillion iterations, until they find a reality that isn’t Cronenberged. That was a joke.
Marx: “By the way guys, I have a lunch appointment in 5, so I’ll let you three find your own way out. Turn off the lights when you leave, and be sure to not step in the dittos.”
As we weave through the story, my thoughts always go back to the individuals in each arc tortured by circumstance, chance, and “Authority”. But Wally seems so special for today; the soldier betrayed by his “Command”, forced to loose his own life or destroy another – one he has come to, perhaps, love. Then, to awaken in a strange body/existence to relive, over and over, loss and betrayal. In this a season of one major religion’s celebration of loss and renewal, may we have hope for this Wally, and indeed, all the Wallys in the world.

The Dark Angel was broken but not destroyed. Like Marx …..it is infinite.

I’m just amazed at seeing a new strip every day. I know it’s explaining that fuzzy one the other day, but still – it’s every day!
