With many cartoonists paying homage to Charles Schulz on the 100th anniversary of his birth, we’re reminded that GA was hitting its stride when he was born—a unique distinction among currently running strips.
Times a wasten, weather is a changen, life goes on time will tell and every second counts. Time is the countdown of mortality. We each get our allotment and never know where and when it ends, but it ends all else is unknown.
But we can guess pretty sure whether we believe in existence after death or not when the body dies it gives up the ghost. Kicks the bucket, burns the toast, 10 toes up we all fall down.
Humans got many ideas of what goes on, what is visible and invisible and hope the invisible is the way to continue on. That is what most of us do to the bitter end it is. Some end it early other end it late from pain. Life is pain.
When I nearly was back in 2006 when I was very sick, I was very calm as the darkness surrounded my sight, seeing that oblivion is a vast black darkness I was still strangely content ready to take it but fortunately 4-packets of fluids brought me back to allow me this extra time with all of you.
Have a happy centennial birthday Sparky wherever you may be.

Walt, you get older when you don’t talk, too.
In fact, the aging process begins at conception.

The strip MOST likely to tribute Schulz didn’t.
