I was able to wear Hawaiian shirts to work for 15 years for my IT/programmer job. My boss was very pragmatic. As long as I did my job and didn’t scare visiting engineering clients I could wear sandals and let my hair grow long.
That was the great thing about working for a successful engineering company.
