Yuk. After licking a few envelopes the taste and paper cut tongue makes sealing them an unfestive chore. us a slightly damp sponge or self sealing envelopes.
Stamps companies used to sell decades old stamps that were only worth their face value. I’m a retired postal worker and I often would see stamps on envelopes 40 or 50 years old.
I’ll share this holiday tale here, as I know there are a lot of cat fanciers in the audience: When I was a kid, my dad bought a Christmas card that said, “Happy Holidays from the Cat.” He sent it off to one of his pals, after signing it with all of our cats names. (At the time, we had eleven.) A week later, we received eleven individual cards made out to Snowball Barrick, Muffin Barrick, Checkers Barrick, etc. (Stamps cost a small fraction of what they do nowadays, mind you.) Wishing a happy and peaceful holiday to all regular readers, and to Amanda, Dan, and the kitties.
Oops, yes, you’re all right, those who pointed out my error. I was thinking of something else. I should wallpaper my studio with the comics containing mistakes, and the comments about my mistakes. I wouldn’t need to paint as many square feet. :)

Well, I see the airing of some grievances. Happy Festivus.

“Insubordinate feline” is a redundancy, not an oxymoron. “Subordinate feline” would be an oxymoron.
