I worked for a man who loved to gamble, we sold construction supplies. There was always a deck of cards on the check out counter. He would offer to cut the cards with customers, double or nothing for their purchase. He always held up his end and expected everyone to hold up theirs. One day a new employee was playing poker with him and lost his two week paycheck on one hand. The boss made him honor it and told him it was a lesson in life to not gamble with money you can’t afford to lose. Also, don’t play cards with a man who is very very good at it.
