Worms got eyes!
Not much of a sporting chance bird.
This wasn’t sport, but survival.
The bird saved him from a more agonizing death as the puddle dried.
I always grab this poor drowned out worms and put them on dryer land
Better than ‘worm jerky’ desiccated in the sun on a hot sidewalk.
It depends on the worm!
The worm couldn’t worm out of it…
