My father would make a rink in our backyard in the 50’s – learned to skate before I was 5. The city flooded a city block to make a rink – had a small building with a pot-belly stove and a snack bar. I would go skating after school until time to go home (getting dark). As the song goes – Those were the days my friend | We thought they’d never end… ;o)
