I thought the magical place was Schenectady, or is that just for Science Fiction writers?

I think this one missed the bucket!

The second hand on the clock sweeping towards the deadline can be a motivator. Funny how quick the email notification and/or the phone rings immediately after to inquire about today’s submission. About noon, just before they leave for the weekend.

Would a bigger bat dislodge a better joke, or worse?

You’ll have to swing really hard during writer’s block.
