Being that this is one of those dramatic comic strips like Judge Parker… does she have something nefarious in mind? There is never any comedy in this strip (nor should there be) so if she wanted to see her son play, why not just go with them? She’s off to assassinate someone from a bell tower, isn’t she? Then she’ll book it down a happy trail to establish an alibi. What an evil, wicked woman. I hope Dick Tracy catches up with her.
Okay so Betty is probably from my old neighborhood, I looked up Capilano to make sure and found some interesting information. I’m such an info geek! “Where does the name Capilano come from?The Park has a rich history, getting its name, Capilano, from the Squamish Nation’s Kia’palano, which means “beautiful river.” This was the name of a great chief who lived in this area in the early part of the 1800s.”
