Irving just liked this pink, striped, soft scarf. Now Cathy would spend two weeks in 27 stores trying to find one that is pinker, more stripe-y, or softer. It’s her second career.
It’s not like her mother will know how much time they put into buying it. Why do people guilt themselves over spending too much money and too much time when the gift recipient could probably care less! I know I’d personally rather not get any gifts if I knew it was stressing the giver out (I don’t care much about getting gifts anyway, as long as the rest of my family gets a good Christmas :) ).

And he worries about HER spending too much! He probably paid way too much for it.

He has the gatherer part down, just has no idea how to hunt.

Maybe she should buy her own mom’s scarf herself.

Being a person that hates clothing shopping, I’m siding with Irving on this one.

Get serious, this is the way men shop. Get in, get it, get out. It’s not a passtime.
