Transcript:
Irving: Our finances are helpless! Mom: What a wonderful time to rethink our priorities! Irving: We can't afford anything! Mom: So we can financially appreciate what really matters! Irving: We're back to zero! Mom: The birthplace of imagination and innovation! What a blessing to be forced to slow down, live simply, rejoice in the little things, and paint our future on a nice, fresh blank canvas! Cathy: The rest of the world has the "blues", mother has the "rainbows". Irving: Someone make her stop being so cheerful! Mom: See? He's already reaching out to loved ones in new ways!

My mom’s aunt was like that, then her air-conditioner broke and couldn’t get it fixed for a month. She spent the whole July at our house grousing about the heat. Apparently, she’s only cheerful when she’s talking about someone else’s misery.
