Sounds like the char pei I had. For two years I didnt think she could talk. Not once on that time did she ever bark. One morning about 3 am, a very deep W OOO F!!! woke us up. A few seconds later a second one, then the house started shaking. Yep, earthquake is what it took to make her speak!
