I remember that this has been the point of some legal rangling in certain cities. But not over hot dogs. Sam is correct that meat twixt 2 pieces of bread is legally a sandwich. However, some locals do not recognize tacos as sandwiches. All so silly.

Point one: Cucumber sandwich. No meat, but still called a sandwich.Point two: Hot dogs are on buns, not bread. Similar, but not the same. And are hamburgers sandwiches? Once again, on a bun. But yet, lunch meat on a bun instead of bread is still called a sandwich. Chill out.

And no, tacos are not sandwiches. Wheat or corn doesn’t matter.

Sorry Sam you can’t win here, a hotdog is not a sandwich, it’s not meat between two pieces of bread it’s a single piece of bread with meat filling. Similar logic to how a pork bun isn’t a sandwich.

Why are they doing this in their backyard? It would be one thing if Sam was grilling, but right now it just seems they’re having a screaming match outside just so neighbors can hear them, perhaps they’re hoping more would join.

Doesn’t the bread have to be sliced?

well, lets just be grateful that it isn’t anything serious… marriage wise. :J

I always say, “I’m not arguing, I’m explaining why I’m right, and you’re wrong”. That always goes over well.

They’re both wrong. A hot dog is essentially a Taco.

But if a sandwich is food between two pieces of bread, and the hot dog’s bun is just a single piece with a cut that allows it to open, that would make them two different kinds of meal with very similar attributes.

I, myself, have had many a hot dog on a folded slice of bread. Doesn’t matter if it’s a half-sandwich or not. What matters is… I enjoy it!
