Years ago I watched my 14 y/o niece have an argument with her mother, which culminated in the girl saying “What_ever_” in a disgusted and dismissive tone of voice and walking away. Knowing that she respected my opinion I followed after her and pointed out that that word and the way she said it was NOT just an innocent way to concede the argument as she tried to tell me it was. No, it was a black insult, with the implied meaning of “F—- you! I’ll do as I please, and you can go to H—-!” I don’t know if it ever changed her behavior, but at least she was now aware of the sub-text of that aggravating word.

I say, take away everything they like until they learn a lesson in respect! It’s the best thing to do with teens!

They can’t stand to be without their cells, an etc and it will soon resolve…..until next time…..repeat process….

That’s 3 dollars, gentlemen…

Oh, Za-a-ack…

She… she can’t seriously do that! That’s evil!

I guess freedom of speech is expensive in that household….
