This one is based on my own childhood misunderstanding. I thought that the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade would come down our street after it passed Macy’s, but Mom told me no- it wasn’t going to do that. We lived over twenty miles away, in the suburbs of New Jersey-on a short, tree-lined street where no giant balloon could fit.

I live in a small town in the mountains. This time of year we get parades of wildlife coming through to hide from hunters.
