One reason for our economic crisis.

I just wish that the government would take the advice that they give all of us. They tell us to live within our means, but they hardly set a good example, spending money like it’s going out of style.

Don’t you wonder how the same bunch of idiots who got us into this mess are now responsible for allocating OUR MONEY in an effort to get us out of the mess? I’ve never heard of any successful attempt to spend your way out of debt and into prosperity. If you think a bunch of CEOs played “shell games” with investors’ funds, wait until you see what politicians do with OPM!

um, our military had nothing to do with 9/11. It occurred because because our various law enforcements couldn’t be bothered to work together.

With the military we just need to stop being the worlds police and let other countries deal with the bleeep once in a while. I still don’t get why we help countries that want nothing more than for every single American to die…and I’m not just talking about Iraq or Afghanistan.

We want to fix our crisis? As Dutchboy said, congress needs to stop spending money as if its monopoly money and act like its coming out of there own checkbook.

Consumers are worried about losing their jobs, and saving. Businesses therefore aren’t making money, and laying people off (see: 1.) Government has to take up the slack: spend money on anything to get the jobs to get the consumers back. Some spending is better than others: better to end up with a bridge that won’t fall down, or an electric grid that won’t black out every summer. With the economy back in gear, tax revenue will naturally increase, making it easier to pay the debt off. Without government spending, we will have more layoffs. Fewer services. Teachers, firemen, police. Fewer hospitals. More potholes, falling bridges, Great Depression II. Economics 101.

Ooh, ooh. I have an idea. How about spending money on fixing some of the crumbling infrastructure, like pipework and bridges and roads that are badly maintained and at the ends of their life expectancy? They could maybe, say, also spend some cash on apprenticeship and skilled trade training initiatives to fill a giant employment gap that was already existent in North America. Oh and while they’re at it, some green initiatives in power production like methane reclaimation and recycling plants that weren’t previously feasible because of the amount of manpower and money they required? And maybe we could do a few other things, like clean up highways and build playgrounds. Make jobs AND a better place to live?

Yes, steverino is nuts. His Economics 101 is a recipe for disaster. If any one of us was without money and then started spending like a drunken sailor, we would be thrown in jail!

But, we voted these idiots in, so we deserve what we get.

In four years I will be putting a bumper sticker on my car saying: “Don’t blame me! I voted for McCain!”

I’ll tell you people the same thing I told the people who read “State of the Union”: Lighten up, it’s a freakin’ COMIC strip.

The mass ignorance of the common people never ceases to amaze me. The fact that the majority of Americans actually believe that the majority of politicians are there to help us boggles the mind.

There is no possible way that bigger government spending is going to do anything other than sink us deeper into recession or depression. The “stimulus” packages that have been passed are a joke and a huge waste of money. You think that Bush Jr. was bad, just wait until you see the bill Obama leaves this country with. If politicians were serious about solving this economic crisis then these “stimulus” packages would be addressing the needs of the common people not growing our government, expanding welfare, and lining the pockets of big wigs and politicians.

I’ve looked at this comic strip several times, and despite the meager furniture shown, I just can’t see the soap box everyone seems to be trying to stand on to orate. Settle down children.

When are the politicians going to be laid off or take pay and benefit cuts? Dream along with me!

The Bush regime threw 350B at these giant corporations. So…after his filthy rich friends made sure that all their commodes were 24K gold, they cut off all credit. Companies were forced into bankruptcy (that the 350B was supposed to prevent) and my husband was laid off as a result. I live in Texas where W was govenor (a Palin wannabe). He “deregulated” electricity. We now pay the highest rate in the US for our electricity. Yes, we should all be so thankful that we are not tied to a wagon pulling for our lives.

The good news: Soapboxes and paper make excellent cooking fires.

I’d recommend using the soapbox as furniture…

I miss people working together towards a means rather than pointing fingers and complaining.

It is asinine that Karl, Dick, Don, Bushy Jr., and Paul have yet to answer any of the felonious(at best)and treasonous(at worst) activities that brought our country-and several others- to brink of disaster, only to threaten us with a financial abyss if we didn’t pay $700 Bil for their next hostile take overs, luxury jets, and Oh Yes… Nothing yet for those threatened with homelessness.

Jazzlily: in the first place, it wasn’t Democrates, it was Democrats. In the second place, no, GWB had a REPUBLICAN majority (in both houses, no less) at first, and only lost the House REPUBLICAN majority in 2006. Although the Senate was a bit of a different story, the REPUBLICANS sill had effective control of that - the almost even split left them with a very powerful force which the Democrats were pretty much unable to overcome. Even after 2006, the Democrats were unable to be very effective, as their titular majority was rendered moot by their own wishy-washiness combined with a relatively unanimous REPUBLICAN presence.

You can go ahead and continue to drink the poison Kool-aid that Obama is pouring down the throats of the masses if you want, after all it is still a free country (for a little while longer anyway).

I am not a huge fan of Bush Jr. I think he made several bad decisions on a lot of different issues. However, blaming the entire Republican party for his mistakes is just a clear example of how completely effective the mind control and brian washing of the Obamanites is.

While Bush Jr. was not the best president we have ever had, I shutter to think of what kind of mess this country would be in today if Gore or Kerry had actually won. As scary as that thought is though, it will not be long before we find out just how big of a mistake this country made when they mindlessly put Obama into office.

Obama has been in office for only a month as of today. He has already made a multitude of serious blunders that put him on par or even worse than Bush Jr. and he accomplished that in only a month can you imagine the mess we will be in if he continues making these kind of blunders for the next 47 months?

Just a reminder that crazy did not start with Trump.
