Personally I do not get it, the looking for presents thing. I do not recall ever looking for presents as a child. In fact more than once a big present for me was hidden in plain site with a blanket over it, and I never looked at it. I would ask what it was, and believe the story that my parents told me, and left it at that.
It’s better to wait and enjoy the right time of receiving than to sniff out too early and spoil the surprise , if I’m allowed to offer my two (s)cents…
I remember one year just before Christmas where my sisters discovered where our parents had hid bicycles for Christmas presents. When my mother found out, boy, did she ever blow her lid!
Billy should go into law enforcement the way he using Marmaduke to “uncover” his Christmas presents location. Of course, it could fail if his parents used different wrapping paper.
I’ve said this before, but I wrap all my kids’ presents, each with a different paper, and put them all under the tree. No one knows whose wrapping is whose until stockings on Christmas morning! Makes shaking gifts and guessing a waste of time!
