It was 20 degrees on our t-mometer this AM, it’s still dark so I can not confirm that there is a light snow going on out there. The forecast says, cloudy, high 25.
Nate Strong was one of my best buds as was his son Jessie who was killed in the middle east in 2005. We could be talking about thoughts on biblical maters and in a few weeks I’d hear it in a sermon, glad I could help and that he thought I had some sound ideas on the bible.
He had a quirky sense of humor which would come out in his sermons, such as when the priests and phrases got together to plot against Jesus it was a committee meeting. He’d keep light but informative.
He even spoke about a girl from the Sterling School, a private school on Craftsbury Common, he met while checking the mail box in front of his folks house. Well, he kept checking the mail every day at the same time she’d take her walk. Long story short, she changed her last name to Strong. Nate and Vicky were two of the best preachers we’ve had over the years. Vicky I believe will stay with us and continue to be a part of our church.
OK, nuff of that. Have a wonerful day Vagabonds, keep the faith and may God bless.
Mark, your friend sounds like a great guy. My condolences to you and to his family. You all remain in my prayers.
I ordered and received a daily devotional from Alistair Begg’s Truth for Life ministries. When I got it I realized that it is a two volume set, with each volume having 365 meditations/devotions. So I gave the second one to Mike and we’ll trade next January. So far they have been pretty good and I do like Begg’s radio ministry, so I’m hopeful that it will stay that way.
My busy week has started off well. PT today and returned the monitor harness to the cardiologist, knee doc tomorrow, Cozy on Wednesday, hand doc and more PT on Thursday and cardiologist on Friday. Then we’re going to a Knights game on Saturday. Sunday really will be a day of rest!
We have blue skies and sunshine today. And more wind. We are at the forecasted high of 49 right now with about 5 degrees cooler from the wind chill.
