My Sophie came crashing through the dog door, as usual, but instead of the normal head-in-my-lap-for-scritches, she sat quietly behind me. Curious, I turned to look. As she came into view, she gave one of those dog smiles, and the two-foot black snake slithered out of her mouth. We found it months later lying on the warm spot in our hall.
If it’s the kind of black snake we have here in Florida, they’re very good at killing mice and rats and they chase away the dangerous snakes. But I wouldn’t want one IN the house…out in the garden is fine with me!!

Hold the door open, everything will go back to normal in a week or two.

I think Sophie brought in a squirrel. I’ll bet it was half-frozen from the cold and is now thawing out.

I was thinking Sophie destroyed something and was shifting the blame to Dougie.
