I had professors like that! I once took a course in early 18th century English history. I love English history. Anyway, she was so boring that all she had to do was walk in the room say, “Good Morning!” and I would fall asleep! Tudor history is fascinating (Henry VIII, etal) but her mediocrity killed it!
I had a high school history teacher who read the history book, page by page w/o stopping for explanations of any kind. Now that will put you to sleep very quickly.
Real history, filled with sex, blood, violence and gore, should be, and is, fascinating. It’s those “teachers” who have not take historiography, or any seminar-format history who are the bores because they have memorized facts without understanding any. Those type brandish their 34-hour degrees as if they meant something. They are good at making a flannel board, though.
