I always leave the camera off and blame it on bandwidth issues.
The issue is that I do not want to waste my own personal bandwidth on dealing with being on camera.
We use Zoom a lot. NOBODY turns on their cameras. Well, except for the rookies. Usually by the next meeting, theirs are turned off, too.
My wife tells me you can shut off the video on zoom meetings. All the ones she’s in, the only one you can see is the one who called the meeting.

Ha! And the lighting just didn’t have to be just right, so you don’t look like a corpse.
