I would have voted for the Jeeps, too (Eugene the Jeep}.

I think the Orphans and the Annies is very creative.

I think the most unusual mascot is the Meloneers, from Rocky Ford, Colorado High School. They are named after the melons farmed in the district,

I can’t believe that a school named their sports teams after a turtle (U. of Maryland terrapins). Another school named their teams after a bunch of rodents (U. of Minnesota Golden Gophers).

I grew up near Centralia and always wondered why they were called the Orphans, but that was so long ago there were no girl’s sports.

Jeeps won many years ago. Jeep vehicles are named after Eugene the Jeep.

I love the comic, yes I do. But I sometimes wonder who it is aimed at. I don’t expect too many kids going to get most of these.
