I never could figure out what was so “fun” about alcohol, drugs, and wild parties. I’m such a boring old thing - if I have a good time I want to remember it.

I think it’s too late for this one, Portnoy. Just triage him and move along.

Yes, I graduated college June 1, 1969. I remember the sixties. Fun times. My drugs have all come with a copay.

There were bands with out of sight music. There was mud, mud, mud. There were naked people and there were drugs - bleeep fine drugs. There was a coming together and a oneness with everyone there. One person died and one baby was born. The circle of life went full circle and life moved on. Before you “normal people” criticize that, take an honest look at your world and and what is going on in it. See what a hell you’ve created and are living in. Frankly, I’d rather have the music, the coming together and the bleeep fine drugs.

What’s the Bill Cosby line? “And you swear you’re going to see your SHOES come out your mouth. And this is called “having a good time”. Yup, I don’t get it either, but then, a lot of it depends on how easily amused you are. Most of the world needs to really WORK at being amused, some of us can get fun in just about anything.

Let’s get organized about this; I’ll take the sex, you take the drugs, and we’ll find someone else to handle the rock ‘n’ roll.

I have gone to a few of those festivals and I was usually on all kinds of substances. I have had few other experiences that I have had so much fun at. I realized that the musicians weren’t just playing songs, but they were just playing. It blew my mind. Then I danced around a fire.

I remember the ’60s, but a lot of it was overseas, so I guess I can say “I wasn’t there”, except for the alcohol part. Caught up in the ’70s.

My old friend Ron always claimed “If you think you’re in control of your drugs, you’re obviously not taking enough!”

And I second the “Happy [234th] Birthday, USMC!” Born in Tun Tavern in 1775, before we were even a country. Semper Fi!
