Pre-Internet? I can remember a time when there was no TV and we had actual plays and comedies on the radio at night. There were no jet planes and people traveled overseas on ships as much as airplanes. I can remember clicking the phone for an operator so you could tell her who you wanted to call. There were no cell phones or PDAs. Oh my God, the Beatles weren’t born yet! Mostly I can remember a time when there was morality and ethics in day to day living, you knew everyone on the neighborhood and people actually loved each other. I truly long to go back there because this technological age really sucks. Pre-Internet indeed.
Ah, those good old rose colored glasses. I also become nostalgic at times. But I’d rather go forward than back. I would not go back in time even for 1 minute. I truly enjoy looking forward to the future & the new ideas that come with it.
I remember going out back because you didn’t have indoor plumbing–sheesh–freeze your buns off before you got the job done. I go with nutsy–keep looking forward and keep up with the times–its more fun!
You’ve got to hand it to those penguins; they’re savvy enough to know that the press can be more vicious than any polar bear, at least when the press isn’t caving in to politicians.
Ah yes, those good old days before TV when racism and segregation ruled the land. And if 100 people were attacked by a racist mob headed by the police, it was no big thing because the rest of the world didn’t have to see it. Those rose colored glasses tend to fog a bit as they get older.

Gad! Things are tough down in Antarctica when the guys have to rely on Mrs. Limekiller as their news source!

Remember, this comic was pre-Internet. Back then, they had to rely on low-tech, mind-numbingly slow news sources … y’know, like newspapers?

Right…it’s better now that the penguins have laptops and an ice floe service provider.

Thanks for that rambling, Grandpa Simpson.
And now, back to our comics.

how could it be good times if the john, paul , george & ringo were not playing their music?..anyway…
perhaps old people from your generation loathed swing music and longed for the days of horse drawn carriages
sure , it was different in those times… but like it or not, with you or without you, those times will change. they have no choice
