Was I retarded (sorry Sarah)? I could never get my chemistry set to go boom. Not a word about boom in the instructions. Oh, real boys don’t read——
would have given up a lot to have a chemistry set. But as a female I got dolls and such. My (younger & only) brother got the chemistry set and was not at all interested in it, but he wouldn’t share…..

You should have looked up the formula for thermite… nice flash, burns at around 900 F, makes a nice hole in the table .. fire department not amused.. ahhh the days of my youth
In my younger days, my older brother had a chemistry set. The most creative thing we’d do is burn small bits of the sulfer that was included just because the stink it made was so bad.
took chemistry in high school…had only one explosion….built a hydrogen generator and was a little late liting the burner ……WHOOMP……went the lab.

Dad Jones is almost as laid-back as Lio’s dad! Oliver is rather droll in his understatement.

My dad was a chemical engineer. Good thing, too, I asked about mixing and heating a couple of my concoctions.

My chemistry set had a formula for gun powder. Lighted unconfined in a spoon it made an impressive flash, and yes, eyebrows do grow back.

Yeah, you can still get Bactine. It’s good stuff. Gotta love an antiseptic that’s got an analgesic.

I get the feeling that if the house was on fire, Mr. Jones would simply turn down the thermostat.
BTW, has anyone else noticed that father and son are both smoking today?
