Sometimes, if I did it gentle enough, I could scoop the curled-up cat and move her to a different spot on the couch, and she wouldn’t completely wake up. Mostly though, she would get her revenge by then using my lap as her base for interfering with whatever I was now doing… ☺
When I got my first apartment, I had a card table and one chair, and a bean bag chair for dining and living room furniture. My cat got the bean bag chair.

Cats do own us but they are very protective. They also love clean linens, so the couch must have just been cleaned.
