Here you go LW18, it even comes with a straw. I found these cool ones with miniture moving skeletons at Halloween. They are lot’s of fun.

Carmy & JFri, there aren’t many Haagen Daz flavors I don’t like, but those two are my favs.

Grog, do you ever go to the “palateria”? Not sure on the spelling of that but, it’s a place that sells ice cream bars, fruit bars, snow cones and things like that. They have a flavor called “leche y canella” for the snow cones. It’s milk and cinnamon, it’s delicious. My neighbor in TX used to make it and my Mom got the recipe for me. I make it, but instead of putting in on crushed ice, I put it in cups and freeze it to make slushies. YUM!!!

Grog, I would think that they would be in both Houston and Dallas, but probably in a Mexican neighborhood.

Grog, there was one by our house in Corpus Christi and it had a drive up. It was extremely busy in the Summer.

I’m surprised there isn’t one in or around the Pasadena Mall, Carmy. I work in the Pasadena, TX area. But perhaps there are other areas that my travels (due to local travel hassles) I won’t bother going to. I’ve tended to stick to my own neck of the woods. I love driving when I’m heading out of town, but not within Houston.

Grog, that’s probably why then. Just keep it in mind if you ever happen to see one or if someone tells you about one nearby.

I will Carmy. There are some areas that I’ve had to go to for personal reasons that’ll take me an hour just to get to. I just don’t like driving that much to spend 2 hours getting to those areas, It’s bad eonough sometimes when my daily commute to & from Pasadena takes 2 hours.

Grog, it takes that long because of the traffic?

I live in a semi-rural area. We recently had a new neighbor call the local township administrative office to request the removal of the Deer Crossing sign on our road.

The reason: Many deer were being hit by cars and he no longer wanted them to cross there.

So much for sleeping in Sunday morning. 78 TRIBESMEN post before me, GROG’s breakfast gets cold, I am personally insulted about my ice cream consumption, and I get to see the beloved names of all the TRIBE.

Haagen Daz is made in N.J. Eww! N.J. Haagen Daz comes in a skimpy 15 Oz. container. Ben and Jerry’s generous 16 Oz container has 2 more bites 4 Ben and Jerry’s has more nutritious sugar and cream 5 I only have two pints of Ben and Jerry’s, an open half gallon of Breyer’s, and something SHE bought labeled “Fat Free” The nearest supermarket doesn’t open for eight minutes.

Good Morning TRIBE. Don’t worry about me, I still have plenty of walnuts, Hershey’s chocolate, and Redi-Whip.

Morning Doctor Toon & Lewreeder Could it be that those small containers are perfect for lunches? Or that people don’t like being tempted with those big containers of ice cream in their freezer.

Just kidding about the ice cream consumption, Lewreader.

Doctor Too, I agree. but if I have one of those 15 oz containeris in the house, I’ll probably eat about half in the first sitting. It’s best to keep ice cream away from me. I often try to resist the tempation of buying the ice cream in the first place.

I am like that with sweets in general, Doc, but I will break down every once in a while - escpecially in the hot & sticky Houston summers, and buy some ice cream. I don’t often have the urge in the winter months though.

Good Morning Doc. All this talk about ice cream has me in the urge to make some. I haven’t bought ice cream in years, but was always partial to Ben and Jerry’s. When I lived in Seattle we had a local chocolate maker called “Dilettante” that served the best chocolate milk shake. It tasted like they set a pint of chocolate ice cream out and left it to melt. It was so decadent and delicious.

JOKE Ahead Working as a telemarketer for MCI Communications, I made a call to a home one evening. When a boy around eight answered the phone, I identified myself, told him I was calling for MCI and asked to speak to his parents. As he put the phone down, I heard him yell, “Dad! Dad! The FBI wants to talk to you!” As soon as the father answered the phone in a quivering voice, I said, “Sir this is not the FBI; this is MCI Communications.” After a long pause, the man said, “This is the first time I am actually glad to hear from you guys.”

~Another JOKE~ As a newly hired reference librarian, I was trying to be extra sensitive to the needs of our patrons. When an ill-at-ease adolescent boy approached me and, in a barely audible voice, asked for books on “beginning to develop,” I was prepared. He seemed embarrassed to be talking to me, so I called over a male staff member and whispered that the boy needed some books about the onset of puberty. A while later they returned to my desk, my colleague with a big grin on his face, and the boy with books on photography.

I am going to just have to come to terms with the fact that my days are now going to be busier. With LilG working, I am going to have to be outside doing more garden work then I have in the past. I have gotten over my being irked about it, I think, and am trying to just go with the moment. We have such a beautiful park for a yard that I really love being here and everyone who visits forgets all their troubles, so I am going to embrace that notion.
