My kind Boss’s CocoMocha (with Silk’s Pure Almond, Chocolate Flavor, as base - it’s in the big fridge on the left in front) PLUS a scoop of Godiva’s Belgian Chocolate Ice Cream

Interestingly, both times I’ve visited Oregon I’ve brought glorious weather with me. I did the same when I visited London. Maybe I have a marketable skill as a weathermaker.

HopeandJoy. No I have not seen that one before. I’ve only been reading the Argyle Sweater for about a year now. I know that I started when I saw saw tags for Star Trek, and there were a few strips in there with that tag.
Ladyhawk, working in teams is never any fun, especially when you are doing all the work or the team can’t agree on anything resulting in no work getting done.
Grog - our final presentation is due tonight. I’m working today and have to take my daughter to the doctors this afternoon. I still have to do the conclusion on the presentation, and edit the slides for them to be final, but I can’t do either until the other members of the team finish their portions, which they have not yet done…. Arrrggghhhh
Hi Sojo, Grog, Poor Ladyhawk and others who have to work in teams.
At the hospital, we had teams too but it was a different concept altogether….although it did have some Arrrrrgggg times especially if you were the charge which I often was.
Thanks Sojo, so do I. Just heard from my team member that her internet is being flakey so she will be heading to the school shortly to finish up. Not sure where that leaves me for getting the conclusion done though. Worst part isn’t getting the slides done, but knowing what I have to say as it relates to their portions.
Yikes! I just looked at the time, and I need to leave for town in 30 minutes. I’ve got a few more things to do before I’m ready, so I’ll talk with you later!
Luv Is Angelic, on burned food: Last year a local fundraiser had a Cajun dinner–only the good things, not the blackened catfish sort. The director of the home that hosts the fundraiser is Norwegian, so he likes to start out by explaining that his first choice–lefse and lutefisk–was vetoed (unanimously) by the board, and the second choice–beer and brats–was soon voted down also.
So, naturally I suggested this year he suggest blackened lutefisk. He looked thoughtful….
By the way, if you dislike burned coffee that much, why not keep it in a thermos? They even have some nowadays that dispense the coffee through a pump. Just run hot water through it first to heat up the inside, and then pour in the fresh coffee–it lasts quite some time, and won’t burn.
I’ve got to run but will check back before turnover…A personal “hi” to Rmom, gmonk, Lonewolf, Sojo, and of course Luv is Angelic and we can’t forget Doc Toon
Back briefly…I remember the song now, it was Splish, Splash,I was taking a bath…didn’t it follow somewhere with Get out in that kitchen and rattle those pots and pans?? or maybe that was another song completely…anyway I am gone to rattle a skillet.
I think Jones will go for a big time coach after this miserable season. He doesn’t want to wait to win. He will want it next season and Garrett is no where near proven.
Rmom, in real life, you have to work well with others and in some cases work on projects that bring together various disciplines within an organization. I’ve been on a few of those types of projects in my life. The thing is to me, project work is most successful when you and your team members can devote 100% of the time to the project. When you have a regular day job to go with it, it would be just as frustrating as a school project where not all the members have the same priorities or schedule.
Grog - I know hardest part of the group projects my son has had to do for his classes, is just getting together outside of class time with his team mate(s).
I think it is a requirement at that school that each course have at least one group project. In some subjects that isn’t so weird, but in others, it seems a real stretch.
Next semester should be interesting for this family. My youngest son will have a family member as a fellow classmate in each of his two classes. I’ll take the computer class with him, and his brother is taking the Psychology class. So, if there are group projects in those classes, it might be easier to get together with another student. ;-)
When it came to school projects, I always tried to work alone if I could. I fould that many of the teams I had people who talked a good game, but when it came down to getting the job done the work was substandard or non-existent. We always seemed to have groups of 3 or 4, rarely just 2.
Fortunately in my Accounting information systems course I was able to work alone. It was a lot of work (especially with a day job in accounting), but I was rewarded with a very good grade. The best grade of my supposed group projects. The professor asked permission to use the model for instruction in future classes.
I always preferred to work solo on projects too. I don’t remember doing any group projects in college, just high school, but then, I don’t have that many college hours.
I think most of the projects he has done are 2 person projects, unless there are an odd number of students in the class. At least that makes it easier to get the team together, than if the group was larger.
In high school, it wasn’t so bad, because it was such a small school (about 80 in my graduating class) that everyone knew each other well enough, to know if they were likely to be a good team member or not. Not so bad if you could pick your own team. But if the teacher assigned the teams, you knew right off if you were stuck with a deadbeat.
Rmom, I didn’t do group projects until I got to University. Being primarly a part-time night student, I didn’t really know my classmates. They changed from course to course & year to year. The only time I had any consistency was when I took 8 months off work to finish it off. At least there were familiar faces in a few of my courses from semester to semester.
Grog - I’ve only gone to commuter colleges, and my sons are going to a community college, but not the campus with dorms, so most students are part-time, or only around for a couple of years. My oldest son occasionally will have a fellow student he knows from our homeschooling days, but there isn’t a lot of student overlap from one class to the next. He did have one guy as a fellow student in one class, and the next semester ended up taking a class that guy was teaching. I think he was the teacher’s pet in that class, as the guy knew that my son is a quick learner when it comes to computers.
It’s really hard when you have to do part-time, because there is no consistency, unlike high school. The larger the student body, the less the likelihood of familiar faces from course to course or semester to semester if your part-time. And the full-timers in your class are breezing right by you., which tended to be the majority of the make-up of most of my classes.
♠Lonewolf♠, Garrett’s future as Head Coach will appear to depend on how well he does as interim head coach. But Jones has warned the players that more heads will roll if things don’t turn around before the end of the year.
I think the Cowboys need another Johnson or Parcells-like coach. I think the players liked Phillps too much, but did they respect him? I didn’t.
EIDo - If you notice that’s the same photo as I posted of the leaves turning red (un-retouched). When talking about pink leaves I deciced to change the color of the leaves to bright pink as a joke and uploaded that to PB to post. Most photo retouch programs can do that. A program similar to Adobe Photoshop is what I am now using - Gimp - free at www.gimp.org - it only took a couple of minutes to change the color.
I have heard Facebook has had some security problems with hackers. You shouldn’t put anything one the web that might cause a problem to you unless you need to, trust the site, etc. There’s always a risk on the web as there is in your life off the web of course.
Grog - - - Singletary hasn’t had a very good year either. I agree with the Parcels/Johnson/Cowher type coach. I think they respected Phillips, but I don’t think he expresses much urgency in his coaching. Some players need that in your face type coach.
They won’t get Cower. I don’t think anyone will. But I’m thinking Singletary might be free by the end of the year. But your right: Somebody needs to get in the face of those over-priced babies. It’s certainly about time Romo grew up.
This is turning into a game and I wanted to turn in already.
Back in time to wish you Happy Dreams Glad the Bulls won. Hubby (don’t like that designation for him) and I watched Castle and I fell asleep during the news.
Glad Ladyhawk did well. Yes, Sojo the leaves ARE pink thanks to enhancement.
I bet the Cowboyswin next week! Goodnight, Grog, Lonewolf, Sojo, and ElDo et all who are yawning *:o

I didn’t.

Many places on the internet can be identity thieves if one is not careful. IMHO

I wonder if they want to get Singletary from the 9ers.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Grog - - - Singletary hasn’t had a very good year either. I agree with the Parcels/Johnson/Cowher type coach. I think they respected Phillips, but I don’t think he expresses much urgency in his coaching. Some players need that in your face type coach.

They won’t get Cower. I don’t think anyone will. But I’m thinking Singletary might be free by the end of the year. But your right: Somebody needs to get in the face of those over-priced babies. It’s certainly about time Romo grew up.
This is turning into a game and I wanted to turn in already.

What a fluke play.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
This game is looking good.
I thought Romo was on the right track early in his career. Then it seemed as if he got a big head and went backwards.

Yeah, right down to the wire.
And the rest of the team appears to be following Romo’s footsteps.

Great finish! And the Bulls won, too.
