In the days before word processors of any kind, Isaac Asimov set up his writing room in the attic of his house. He had 10 IBM Selectrics set up around an old dining room table wit 2 others as spares. Each typewriter was dedicated to a certain topic. If he were alive today he would have one computer and 4+ monitors all minimum of 32 inch diagonals.
