When I was a young lad, we played a game called Dizzy Izzy. We’d take a baseball bat and hold it upright with one end on the ground and keeping it stationary and in one place, run around in circles while holding our foreheads to the bat. After a a number of spins around the bat, we’d stand up and try to run to an object some yards away. We were so dizzy, were nauseous, and we were unable to run in a straight line and most of the time fell down before we got to our object
After that childhood experience, and getting dizzy on a merry-go-round, I’ve never understood how figure skates who are spinning and drawing their arms in to go faster and faster are able to stand upright and not throw up.
One time when we were (foolish) kids, me, my brother, and a friend played marco polo in the dark in the church basement. Me with my eyes closed ran into one of the cement support pillars… I think I saw stars

I used to do that, too. Nowadays, I feel dizzy just sitting up from lying down.
