Reminds me of the climactic scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark takes place in a secret chamber where the Ark of the Covenant is opened. As the Nazis eagerly anticipate the power contained within, the Ark unleashes supernatural forces, resulting in the demise of those who dared to gaze upon it.
Windings? Not for more than 20 years now. Tiger and Bridgestone (labeled as Nike) changed all of that with a solid-core ball. Cut open today’s ball and it looks like a very stale Tootsie Pop.
They made solid core balls, too, when I was a kid, but back then they were considered inferior to the wound ones. I don’t know whether they improved the tech or the marketing.

Golf balls are like chihuahuas, very tightly wound.

I cut one open when I was about 10 and the compressed liquid center exploded into my eye. Not funny then, but after 60 years it seems funny now

And they haven’t been made that way in 20+ years.

Best to do these things when you are young. Less embarrassing. Expected. But then I’m still a child at heart.
