my wife’s halfwit co-worker who’s despised by the rest of the crew called in to say he had to miss work because he’d run into a post at the drugstore and had to deal with the insurance. it later transpired that he’d swerved to miss a car that was pulling out as he was hurriedly trying to pull in. the crew chief said laconically, apparently waiting for the other car to pull out didn’t occur to him…
