Once upon a time, I would have bragged about golf being a sport that identifies and rewards the best players in each tournament. There were exceptions like appearance payments for traveling to an international tournament, generally frowned upon but politely ignored.
And then the Saudis swooped in with billions of dollars for the LIV tour and then the PGA tour is now paying their players for “loyalty” via “The PGA Tour had finalized a deal with the Strategic Sports Group for an immediate investment of $1.5 billion into a new, for-profit entity named PGA Tour Enterprises.”
Pro = all $$$$College = mostly $$High School, Middle School, Elementary, dirt playground…hope they can keep the money out.

Actually, sometimes managers try batting a good hitter ninth so the bottom part of the lineup won’t be an"automatic out"
